to tell us what you thought. With afros in abundance and sequins that sparkled under the luminescent disco ball, RED turned back the clock to a funky-town era for one night only. The party started even before the party really started, as Fabio and Luis led an Aero Dance class that had disco divas shimmying religiously on the dance floor. Dressed in iridescent black and white, the dynamic duo got the set rolling with dips and steps that would have done Tony Manero (Saturday Night Fever) proud. The high-voltage, high-glam vibe continued through the night as sounds of the 70s reverberated with retro cool. ABBA, Michael Jackson, Village People, and Kool and the Gang blared through the speakers, both through live band and DJs on the decks.
Best Costume and Best Dancer award winners proved they were in it to win it - no detail was spared in reviving that rock-out flares-with-flair attitude. Moves on the dance floor ranged from slow n low to heady highs.
Free-flow canapés and drinks were savoured appreciatively. And even the torrential downpour at one point in the evening did nothing to dampen the reign of the disco ball decade. |
